- Description
All children in my setting are treated with equal care & consideration. All activities & resources I provide can be adapted to suit the individual needs of the majority of children. If a child needs a particular piece of equipment for any reason, I am happy to liaise with parents & other services to facilitate this.
I work in partnership with parents and discuss with them their child’s individual needs. Each child is assessed when they join my setting so that I can consider ways to support their development. Children’s progress is shared with parents on a regular basis, together with observations & reviews through a variety of means, such as talking one-to-one, via email, text & by sharing written information. I am willing to work with other professionals as required and as I am a member of the Stockport Childminding Network, I have the support of a Co-ordinator and I have access to information such as the EYFS Pathway in Stockport.
As I have previously worked in Primary education, I have had experience of working with children with a variety of different needs, particularly behavioural difficulties. I have some basic knowledge of Makaton and have personal experience of Asthma, as my own child has this. I am happy to undertake training in specific areas that I have not had previous experience.
