Childline is a UK charity that offers free advice online and over the phone.

How do I use Childline?

You can call 0800 1111 to talk to a counsellor. You can also have a 1-2-1 counsellor chat online or visit the website to read the message boards.

What age range is this suitable for?

Childline is available to help anyone under 19 in the UK with any issue they’re going through.

When is Childline open?

Childline is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. But they might not be able to talk for as long when it’s after midnight.

What can I ask them about?

You can talk to them about absolutely anything, including topics like bullying, abuse, safety and the law, your body, your feelings, friends, relationships and sex, home and family, school, college or work.

What information do I need to give?

They won’t know anything about you unless you tell them. There’s more information on their confidentiality promise on the Childline website.
