- Description
Transition between home to setting is led by the needs of the child and/or parent. It is flexible in terms of length of settling in period and frequency.
Transition between setting and nursery/school is usually led by the nursery/school.
Children’s needs are identified through regular observation and assessment, discussion with parents and other carers.
Since the setting is a home, some minor adjustments might be possible with consultation with parents as to the actual needs of the child, through telephone conversation and face-to-face meetings.
Through my previous job as a primary school teacher, I have some training and experience of working with children with a variety of special needs. If further training were required, then it would be done through training available through Stockport Council.
I am happy to talk to parents about any worries or concerns about their child, via telephone, text, email or face to face discussion as appropriate.
