Notes

High Lane Pre-School and KIDZONE is part of The Marple Childcare Company.  We offer funded high quality childcare for eligible 2-year-olds and all 3 and 4 year olds and school aged children in wrap around care.

Families can choose from a combination of full days, mornings or afternoons to suit their needs.  Full days are offered in partnership with the school nursery, who delivery 5 x 3-hour morning sessions and Pre-School offer 5 x 3-hour afternoon sessions.  Full wraparound care is also available, giving parents the option of a 7.30am start and collection up to 6.00pm Monday - Thursday and 5.30pm collection on a Friday.  Sessions are priced at a very reasonable rate.  For full details, please phone 07586 790 160.

All children, parents and carers are warmly welcomed into our setting.  The leader of the setting spends time with parents/carers on their initial visit to introduce the setting and get to know as much information as possible on the child.

Staff are always available to discuss the progress of the children at drop off and pick up times.  More formal parent meetings are scheduled in the evening or during the day to suit the family.

The children are allocated a key worker who carefully monitors the child’s progress.  Any additional help that may be needed in the Nursery or by outside professionals is sensitively discussed.  The leader, SENCO and staff are aware of specialist services available and will signpost parents/carers, arrange visits and will fill in the relevant documentation.

The setting has worked with Portage, Speech Therapy Occupational Therapists, Educational Psychologists, behaviour support, inclusion and many other services.

The setting is able to offer rooms for private conversations, TAC (team around the child) meetings and special support meetings.

The needs of the child are constantly reviewed in weekly meetings with staff.  Liaising with professionals and keeping them informed is a high priority in our setting.  The setting and parents/carers share ideas that can be done both in the setting and at home, for example games to aid speech and language development.  Children are treated as individuals so each settling in process will be tailored to their needs.  The staff spend considerable time making sure that there is a smooth transition to their next setting.

Staff training is a high priority with staff accessing courses and in-house training.

 Our main strengths are:-

  • Strong links with outside professional services
  • Excellent transition procedures
  • Detailed and extensive induction systems
  • Regular meetings with parents/carers
  • Staff training opportunities available
  • Sensitive and very caring treatment of all issues
