Description

Children’s needs will be identified through children’s progress being regularly tracked. This will support me to identify if children need additional support in a certain area of development. This will also support me to establish if the support I am giving your child is effective.

Children are supported to settle into my setting through having in-depth discussions with parents about their child’s individual needs and routines and how I can support their child in my setting. Children will have settling in periods to support their transition which will also support me to meet individual children’s needs. I consult with parents through everyday discussions as well as regular meetings to discuss children progress. I also encourage parents to share children learning at home with me.

I work alongside other professionals that work with children to support continuity and to support the best outcomes for children. My home has some adaptations for children with physical disabilities such as grab rails and extra handrails on the stairs. I am a childminder who works alone and am therefore the person to approach with SEND enquires. I have experience in working with other professional bodies such as speech and language, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, hearing impaired service and have experience in working with children who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities. To meet the needs of your child I may need to attend further training to cater for their additional needs, which will support me to give the best care possible.
