Local Offer

Description

The transition is supported by spending time discussing the children's needs in detail and continually review these with their parents.

I support parents through regular discussions and use a home/setting diary to outline what they have done, eaten, nappy changes/potty training along with their day to day friendships and achievements at my setting.

My previous experience in caring for children with additional needs includes looking after children with autism, ADHD, dyspraxia and mild learning difficulties.

I have attended training to support children such as:

  • Introduction to Makaton
  • Portage Approaches to Aid Inclusion
  • Identifying and supporting the inclusion of children with SEND in the Early Years

I have also been involved in the DcatchAssisted Placement Project. This included attending training of:

  • Meeting Disabled Children's Medical and Health Needs

I am committed to making reasonable adjustments to my home to meet a child's needs and will undergo any training required. I am aware of support available to childminders from services such as Portage.
