These guidelines have been developed by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and focus on a number of areas including:
- Spoken Language
- Responding to other
- Interacting with others
- Eye contact and other gestures
- Ideas and imigination
- Unusal or restricted interests or repetitive behaviours
The category of children has been divided into 3 different categories and guidlines are different for each age range.
If you have concerns about a child or young person you can speak with school SENCO in the first instance, who will seek additional advice from the child’s school Speech and Language therapist or Educational Psychologist.
