These guidelines have been developed by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and focus on a number of areas including:

  • Spoken Language
  • Responding to other
  • Interacting with others
  • Eye contact and other gestures
  • Ideas and imigination
  • Unusal or restricted interests or repetitive behaviours

The category of children has been divided into 3 different categories and guidlines are different for each age range.

If you have concerns about a child or young person you can speak with school SENCO in the first instance, who will seek additional advice from the child’s school Speech and Language therapist or Educational Psychologist.
