I have two children of my own. I have a large secure back garden where the children love to play in with lost of age appropriate toys and equipment.

- Description
Transition is supported from home to setting by communication through Parents and Carers asking them to bring something special from home (ie. teddy bear or blankets) and from my setting to school by sharing children’s folders and tracking sheets with the EYFS.
I do monthly/quarterly progress sheets and communication with parents and carers and the health visitors two year progress check.
I have had a new garden which is very children friendly, has been flagged and has a children’s bark area which gate which is padlocked and has fencing. Suitable storage has been made to store toys and equipment.
I consult parents through questionnaires in personal daily diaries and by telephone.
I keep up to date on all training courses offered to me and I go to as many network meetings and support groups as possible.
I specialise in speech and language and am presently working with Portage as I have done in the past.
I explain to parents and carers how I do things in my setting and how they have worked. I keep a positive focus on activities and tasks, to give lots of praise and reward charts work well. I explain to parents how I would do an activity and ask for feedback on how well it worked at home.
