Accessibility Strategy

Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council supports educational settings in meeting the needs of disabled learners and raising their attainment.  The purpose of the Accessibility Strategy is to ensure that increasing the accessibility of the curriculum, enhancing the physical environment and improving information for disabled pupils is central to the delivery of services and supports schools with the development and delivery of activities identified in their individual accessibility plans.

The accessibility Strategy focuses on a number of key areas such as:

  • Legislation
  • Strategic priorities
  • Increasing access to the curriculum
  • Improving access to the environment
  • Improving access to information
  • Buildings
  • Transport
