Children and Young Peoples Advocacy and Children’s Rights Service in Stockport
- Coram Voice is providing community (supporting children and young people with issues relating to Children’s Social Care) and child protection (support in presenting wishes and feelings at conference and as part of Child Protection process) advocacy to all young people with a social worker and care leavers in Stockport. We also provide non-instructed advocacy for children and young people with disabilities and mental health issues if appropriate.
- Coram Voice work with the consent of children and young people to help them get their voices heard and for children and young people to be part of decision making when they have involvement from Children’s Social Care. Coram Voice is a confidential service and we work on the behalf of Children and young people.

- Advocacy referrals can be made via the Coram Voice National Helpline 0808 800 5792 (the helpline is staffed by advocates who can also give advice around rights and entitlements). Children and young people will need to consent to the referral.
- Child protection referrals to be made by Social Worker or IRO with consent of the young person to cpstockport@coramvoice.org.uk
Independent Visitors Service in Stockport
- Coram Voice is co-ordinating and managing the independent visitor’s service for looked after children in Stockport. Independents visitors are volunteers who do not work for Stockport Council who befriend the child or young person and meets with them once a month for social activities. Independent visitors do not provide advocacy support and are there to build appropriate friendships with children and young people who have little or no contact with their family.
