SEND Information, Advice and Support Service
Stockport SENDIASS offer free, impartial and confidential information, advice and support to parents and carers of children and young people with SEND and to young people themselves. We have a role in ensuring parents’ and young peoples' views are heard, understood and respected.
We aim to increase parent’s confidence in being able to make informed choices and decisions. Support provided will vary depending on each individual, but we can explain how special educational needs are identified and assessed, who parents/carers and young people should talk to, and we can inform parents/carers and young people of their rights and schools’ responsibilities.
We offer individual support such as home visits, attendance at meetings and reviews, support with liaison between agencies and information about other parent support groups. We also provide information and links to other organisations delivering health and social care.
