From reviewing our Local Offer we know that information about growing up and preparing for adulthood in Stockport isn’t as up to date as it needs to be. A group of us, including parent carers and young people, are now looking into the content so we can improve it for families. In the meantime here are some really valuable links. Some of the content may be a little out of date but we are working on it as quickly as possible.
Information about how to help young people and their families prepare for becoming an adult
A guide for parents and carers of young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability in Stockport, aged 13 to 25 in mainstream or special education or post 16 learning, training or employment
The national Preparing for Adulthood programme provides a wide range of expertise and experience to support young people into adulthood to ensure young people with SEND achieve paid employment, independent living, housing options, good health, friendships, relationships and community inclusion
