Beacon Counselling

Beacon Counselling exists to improve the lives of adults, young people, and children who experience mental and emotional distress or have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.  We do this by providing counselling and related services, and tackle a wide range of problems from depression, anxiety, and stress through to relationships, bereavement and family breakdown.

We work with 1,500 people a year, around two thirds of whom are adults and one third young people and children. During 2013, we delivered over 8,000 sessions of counselling. To reach this number of people, we work from over 20 locations across the borough of Stockport and beyond, as makes our help accessible to all.

Beacon Counselling provides the following services:

  • Effective counselling for adults, young people and children
  • Tailored programmes to deal with specific issues
  • Targeted projects and contract work for funders, local authorities and the NHS
  • Expert training for counsellors looking for professional development
  • High quality and varied placements for training and qualified counsellors

We help people to deal with the problems and challenges they are facing and move on in their lives, giving the skills and resilience to get more out of life. Our services are proven to work, and the quality of our services has been recognised through several prestigious awards.

If you are someone seeking support, looking for development as a counsellor, or someone looking to support the work through providing time, resources, or finances, you are welcome to look through our website and contact us.
